Last Supper Dinner Club – August

Zea Rotisserie & Bar 4450 Veterans Blvd, Metairie, LA, US

We haven't been to Zea's for a while, so we are going with one of our favorites. They always handle larger groups so well with separate checks, easy parking, a large menu and interstate access. If you haven't ever tried their roasted corn grits, and you are willing to brave the carbs, you are in for a treat. Take a look at the menu here: https://zearestaurants.com/locations/metairie/ *** As a courtesy to the restaurant and the other attendees, please update your [...]

Article Three of the Massachusetts Constitution, and why it is important today. Our guest speaker will be Robert Wilfong, who has an amazing knowledge of American History (and a Master’s Degree in the same), stumbled on the curious history of Article Three of the Massachusetts Constitution (written by John Adams and used as a template for the U.S. Constitution) and he will discuss that the separation of church and state is not something handed down from on high by the [...]

Sunday Freethinkers Fika – August

CC's Coffee House 2800 Esplanade Ave, New Orleans, LA, US

Our monthly Freethinkers Fika is a small, friendly social gathering for humanists, atheists, agnostics, and freethinkers to engage in free discussion with like-minded others in a coffee-shop atmosphere. Secular Humanism is a philosophy that seeks to make sense of the world using science, reason, and shared values; we reject attempts to explain the world in supernatural terms. This philosophy forms the basis for our affiliation in NOSHA, and thus will necessarily inform the perspective from which topics are discussed. The [...]
