Women’s Rights in Louisiana and Beyond

January 19, 2019 @ 2:30 pm - 5:00 pm

In light of the cancellation of the Women’s March, we wanted to take this opportunity to offer education on the interesting history of women’s rights in Louisiana and the status of the ERA nationally. We are partnering with New Orleans NOW as a partner in this enlightening program.

Our featured speaker will be Dr. Christine Day, a professor of political science at UNO, who will address the history and status of the Equal Rights Amendment.

Dr. Day is author of “What Older Americans Think: Interest Groups and Aging Policy”, and co-author of “Women’s PACs: Abortion and Elections”. Her research has appeared in the American Politics Quarterly, Journal of Politics, Research on Aging, Women and Politics, Social Science Quarterly, and in edited books. She won the university-wide Early Career Achievement Award for Excellence in Research in 1993.

Dr. Day’s current research interests include interest groups, women and politics, and political gerontology.

NOSHA WILL CONTINUE OUR SECOND HARVEST COLLECTION — If you would like to contribute, please bring one or two non-perishable food items for our monthly donation to Second Harvest Food Bank!
